National Brand, and Department Store Computers are designed to do three specific things very well.
Back

  1. They are designed to sell software. These machines are always loaded with trial software offers that run in the background, sucking up recourses. Many of these advertisements pose security risks to the machine, cause hang-ups at start up and shut down, and often, advanced computer skills are required  to remove them. They are there because the software companies have paid the computer manufacturer to put them there. So, the machine should be free, right?  Buy one of these and you have purchased a box full of advertisements unfit to be placed into service for any business.

  2. They are designed to sell entertainment. Along with trail software offers, these machine always include offers for music, videos, instant messaging services, VoIP services, Encyclopedias, Internet Connection Services, and on and on. These offers suck up resources, pose security risks, cause hang-ups at start up and shut down, along with causing you endless frustration when all you want is to get some work done. Again, they are there because companies have paid the computer manufacturer to put them there. Shouldn't they pay you to take one of these advertisement boxes home?

  3. They are designed to cook themselves to death in 3 to 5 years. National Brand, and Department Store Computers are always very poorly cooled. The sooner you buy a new advertising box, the sooner they can try and sell you more software and entertainment junk. Consider this fact: The cost to the manufacturer is less than $10 per machine to upgrade the cooling system to an adequate level. But they have hidden motives, and think you are too "computer stupid" too understand them. Here's an interesting fact that most folks don't know: A properly cooled computer,  kept clean inside, should last 20 years.. That's right I said TWENTY YEARS...  It is a solid state electronics.. Keep it clean and properly cooled, and it will perform just as well in 20 years as the day you bought it. Think about it.... How old was your last television before you replaced it?
